NZD/AUD Transfer
The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) has recovered all last week’s losses against the Australian Dollar (AUD) pushing higher over the week to 0.9175 (1.0900) levels a fresh 2025 high- from around 0.9075 (1.1020) The RBA cash rate Tuesday seems a distant memory now after all that’s happened with Trump’s “liberation Day” tariff talks. However, the RBA left their cash rate unchanged at 4.10% as expected. Underlying inflation has fallen over the last 2 years in line with forecasts and continues to return to the midpoint of the target band. The outlook remains uncertain for the Australian economy with China now paying a 54% tariff which could struggle to attract AUD buyers. Next week’s RBNZ cash rate will take centre stage with another 25-point cut predicted.
